Since its establishment in 1858, KK Women's and Children's Hospital has developed into a pioneer in the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, and neonatology. The 830-bed hospital now serves as a referral centre for tertiary care to treat women's and children's high-risk diseases. To provide the best medical care possible, a team of over 500 professionals uses a compassionate, multi-disciplinary, and holistic approach to therapy. They also make use of the most recent technological advancements and medical advances. As an Academic Medical Center, KKH is of the opinion that improving patient care requires cutting-edge clinical teaching and research. Associate Consultant at the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) and KK Women's and Children's Hospital, Dr. Yap Kok Hooi specialises in cardiothoracic surgery (KKH). He earned his medical degree from Dundee Medical School in the UK in 2009, and he then finished his foundation year and core surgical training there. He subsequently enrolled in the National Heart Centre of Singapore's Cardiothoracic Surgical Residency Training Program. Along with his professional career, he successfully completed an MSc at Cardiff University in the UK and has published a large number of academic works. Obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr. Wang Junjie consults at the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology's Department of Gynaecological Oncology. He is a board-certified gynaecological oncologist with more than ten years of experience treating obstetric and gynaecological disorders. After earning his MBBS from the National University of Singapore's Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Wang Junjie went on to complete his obstetrics and gynaecology specialist studies. Later, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists accepted him as a member (UK). He then earned his accreditation as an obstetrician and gynaecologist in Singapore. At KK Women's and Children's Hospital, he was subsequently offered additional speciality study in the field of gynaecological oncology (KKH). He received the SingHealth HMDP Fellowship Award throughout his speciality training. The following year, he completed an Advanced Laparoscopic Oncological Surgical Fellowship at Inselspital Bern, Switzerland, where he trained under eminent Professor Michael Mueller. He also completed a second surgical fellowship at the Oscar-Lambret Centre for Cancer in Lille, France, under the tutelage of the illustrious Dr. Eric Leblanc. Dr. Ng Yong Hong finished her medical undergraduate studies in 1999, and after completing her study in general paediatrics, she joined the department of paediatrics in May 2002. She then joined the nephrology service in 2007. She presently serves as the Department of Pediatrics' and Nephrology Service's Head. Nephritis and urinary tract infections are her areas of interest in study. Dr. Ng takes part actively in medical education as well. She served as the Paediatric Program Training Director from 2011 to 2017, the Senior Residency Associate Program Director from 2013 to 2017, and the core faculty for the SingHealth Pediatrics Residency Program (current). In December 2016, Dr. Yeo Tong Hong joined the KK Women's and Children's hospital's Paediatric Neurology division. He finished his higher specialist training at Southampton Children's Hospital in Southampton after completing his postgraduate Basic Specialist Training at Children's Hospital for Wales in Cardiff. He was chosen through a highly difficult national selection process to finish the Paediatric Neurology specialist training programme at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital in Manchester. In March 2012, he earned his CCT in paediatrics and paediatric neurology. He held the position of Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Children from 2012 until 2016. After completing a clinical fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, Clinical A/Prof Kevin Lim underwent specialised training in paediatric spine and scoliosis surgery at prestigious facilities in Japan and New Zealand. His further research interests in paediatric orthopaedics include clubfoot, fractures in children, and cerebral palsy. A/Prof Lim is the Chairman of the Division of Surgery at KK Women's and Children's Hospital, where he is responsible for the management of the surgical departments and operating rooms. Following the completion of his specialty study in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Lam joined the division in 2014. He is extensively involved in the study of sports injuries and paediatric trauma. The Singapore Orthopaedic Association Humanitarian and Outreach Subcommittee includes Dr. Lam as a committee member.
