Profile (Overview)

Bangkok, Thailand's King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH) is a public general and tertiary referral hospital. The Srisavarindhira Thai Red Cross Institute of Nursing, Chulalongkorn University, and the Faculty of Medicine all use it as a teaching hospital. It is run by the Thai Red Cross Society. It is one of the largest hospitals in Thailand with a 1,435 bed in-patient capacity. Along with Siriraj Hospital and Ramathibodi Hospital, it is regarded as one of the best public hospitals in the nation because it is affiliated with Thailand's top medical school. Through its dentistry, forensic medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics, preventive medicine, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, radiology, and surgery clinics, the hospital now offers both general and specialised medical services. Additionally, it runs the Queen Sirikit Center for Breast Cancer, the Chulalongkorn Craniofacial Center, the Excimer Laser Center, the Glaucoma Imaging & Diagnostic Center, and the Cardiac Center. Many WHO Collaborating Centers in Thailand use it as their office. The hospital's Bhumisirimangkalanusorn Building, billed as the largest medical hub in ASEAN, was officially opened in 2007 and is a 12.5 billion baht (US$376 million) 29-story structure. The government and the Thai Red Cross Society funded it jointly. A portion of the new extension debuted in 2016; the full opening is scheduled for the end of 2017. With more than 1,250 beds. When fully operational, it will house 2,100 nurses and more than 1,600 doctors.
