BIOGRAPHY
Clinical haematologist Dr. Prantar Chakrabarti is well known in his field. Dr. Chakrabarti received his MD in general medicine from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi before completing his DNB in general medicine and DM in clinical haematology. He has won numerous national and international honours, such as the Harold Gunson Fellowship, Marie Curie Action Fellowship, and the International Bursary of the Royal College of Physicians. Additionally, Dr. Chakrabarti has received specialised training in biostatistics, ethics of human subject research, and stem cell transplantation from King College in London and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He belongs to the following professional organisations: American Society of Haematology, Indian Society of Haematology, Blood Transfusion Society of India, Association of Physicians of India, and Indian Medical Association.
Expert in many facets of clinical haematology, Chakrabarti has a focus on translational research, thalassaemia, and hemopoietic stem cell transplantation. At the 51st Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Haematology and Transfusion Medicine, he served as Scientific Secretary.
