Varicose Veins Double Laser or RFA:

For big veins, varicose veins, or venous insufficiency, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and endovascular laser ablation (EVLA) are two viable therapies. The term "ablation" refers to the process of removing something.

Small varicose veins may not require treatment, but as they become larger, varicose veins can cause discomfort, edoema, and other complications. Treatment can certainly assist in this situation.

Treatment for varicose veins used to include surgery, anaesthesia, and weeks of recuperation. However, in the last decade or so, radiofrequency and laser ablation both minimally invasive techniques  have produced good outcomes that are comparable to surgical procedures while requiring less time to recuperate.

Radiofrequency ablation and laser ablation are the two most common forms of endovenous (vein) ablation procedures. Both approaches obliterate the infected vein. Radiofrequency ablation employs high-intensity, high-frequency radio waves to create heat that shuts the vein, whereas laser ablation uses laser energy to close the vein.

A long, thin tube (catheter) is introduced through the skin and into the defective vein in both methods of ablation. The catheter is then placed against the blood vessel's wall to "cauterise" the vein.

The body absorbs the now-defunct vein after therapy. The blood is then immediately diverted into another vein, just as it would be in the event of an accident.

Both radiofrequency and laser ablation deliver good, long-term outcomes. In comparison to surgical vein-stripping operations, the patient has far less downtime, discomfort, and bruises.

Disease Overview:

Chronic venous disease
Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is a condition in which the venous wall and/or valves in the leg veins do not function properly, making blood flow back to the heart more difficult. Blood "pools" or collects in these veins as a result of CVI, and this pooling is known as stasis.

Disease Signs and Symptoms:

Chronic venous insufficiency might cause the following symptoms:

  • Legs or ankles that are swollen
  • Calves that feel tight or itching, aching legs
  • Walking causes pain that subsides when you sit down.
  • Brown skin, usually at the ankles
  • Varicose veins are a kind of varicose vein that occurs when
  • Leg ulcers that might be difficult to cure
  • Having an uneasy feeling in your legs and a strong desire to move them (restless legs syndrome)
  • Leg cramps or muscular spasms can be excruciating (charley horse)

The signs and symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency might be mistaken for those of other illnesses. For a diagnosis, speak with your healthcare professional.

Disease Treatment:

Your doctor will devise a treatment strategy for you based on the following factors:

  • Age, general health, and medical history are all factors to consider.
  • The gravity of your situation
  • How effectively you cope with specific medications, treatments, or therapies
  • Describe your symptoms and signs.
  • If it's likely that your situation may deteriorate,

Following are some examples of treatment options:

Blood flow in the veins of your legs is being improved. Swelling can be reduced and blood flow improved by keeping your legs elevated. Compression stockings might also be beneficial. Blood flow can be improved with regular exercise.

Radiofrequency ablation or endovenous laser ablation (RFA). This is a method that requires very little time and effort. Heat is delivered to the afflicted vein by a tube (catheter). The vein is now closed. Blood pools less in the leg once the vein is occluded. The overall flow of blood has improved.

Sclerotherapy. If your case is more serious, this may be employed. A chemical is injected into the veins that are damaged. The chemical creates scarring in the veins, preventing them from carrying blood. Other veins then return the blood to the heart. Scarred veins are absorbed by the body.

Surgery

In severe circumstances, this is done. Ligation is a surgical procedure that can be done. Blood no longer flows through the afflicted vein since it has been shut off. The vein will be removed if it or its valves are severely damaged. This is referred to as vein stripping.
