ROOT CANAL TREATMENT with Microscope:

Root canal therapy is a series of operations for the pulp of the tooth that removes infection and protects against microbiological infection in the future. The infected pulp chamber is removed using a variety of devices during root canal therapy.

Microscopes are used to see minute features such as missing canals, damaged equipment, and obstructed canals more clearly.

Microdentistry is a branch of dentistry that employs high-powered magnification to examine teeth and other oral tissues up close during treatment. It has a wide range of uses in surgery, allowing dentists to conduct even the most complicated treatments with extreme accuracy.

Disease Overview:

Infected tooth

Infections in the mouth begin in the tooth or its supporting structures and spread to the surrounding tissue. Bacteria infecting the pulp and spreading to the surrounding tissues is the most prevalent cause of dental infections. Infections can also damage the gums, creating gingivitis, which can lead to periodontal disease in the long run.

Disease Signs and Symptoms:

  • A severe, throbbing toothache that spreads to the jaws, neck, and ear.
  • Sensitivity to extremes of heat and cold.
  • Sensitivity to chewing or biting pressure.
  • Fever.
  • Swelling of the cheeks or face.
  • Lymph nodes under your jaw or in your neck that are sore and swollen.

Disease Causes:

When germs infect the dental pulp — the interior portion of the tooth that includes blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue — a periapical tooth abscess develops. Bacteria enter the tooth through a dental cavity, a chip, or a crack, and spread all the way to the root.

Disease Diagnosis:

An X-ray of the painful tooth can assist determine whether or not there is an abscess. X-rays may also be used by your dentist to see if the infection has spread and caused abscesses in other locations. A CT scan is suggested. A CT scan may be done to determine the extent of the illness if it has migrated to other parts of the neck.

Disease Treatment:

The treatment's objective is to eliminate the infection. In order to do so, your dentist may:

Drain the abscess by opening it up (incising). The dentist will make a tiny cut into the abscess to drain the pus, then clean the region with salt water (saline). A little rubber drain is sometimes used to keep the region open for drainage until the swelling goes down.

Perform a root canal procedure. This can aid in the removal of the infection and the preservation of your tooth. Drilling down into your tooth, removing the sick core tissue (pulp), and draining the abscess are all part of the procedure. The pulp chamber and root canals of the tooth are then filled and sealed.

The tooth, especially if it is a rear tooth, may be crowned to strengthen it. Your repaired tooth can last a lifetime if you take appropriate care of it.

Remove the tooth that is causing you pain. If the tooth can't be saved, your dentist will extract it and drain the abscess to remove the infection.

Antibiotics will be prescribed. Antibiotics may not be necessary if the infection is only in the abscessed region. If the infection has spread to surrounding teeth, your jaw, or other regions, your dentist will most likely prescribe antibiotics to prevent the illness from spreading further. If your immune system is impaired, he or she may also prescribe antibiotics.
