Disarticulation Hip Oncosurgery
The surgical removal of the complete lower leg by transection through the hip joint is known as hip disarticulation. The surgical removal of the entire lower leg as well as all or a significant section of the ilium is known as transpelvic amputation.
When compared to transfemoral amputations, knee disarticulation is a remarkably painless treatment. Only skin, ligaments, arteries, and nerves must be cut, not bones or muscles. Even the meniscal cartilages, which function as axial shock absorbers, may be left in place.
