A national and regional referral centre for cardiovascular illnesses is the National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS). NHCS, a pioneer in cardiovascular care in Singapore, was founded in 1998. A one-stop shop for all cardiac care, including preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services, is offered by NHCS. It is Singapore's only facility for heart and lung transplants.

The Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) was founded on March 3, 1989, and it started operating in October of that same year. Within the network of public healthcare facilities, it is the authorised national eye centre. With a staff of around 80 ophthalmologists, SNEC leads and coordinates the delivery of specialised ophthalmological services with an emphasis on excellent teaching and research.
SNEC is a member of the Singapore Health Services (SingHealth) academic cluster, which consists of three community hospitals, eight primary care polyclinics, five national specialty centres, and four hospitals. In order to provide a broad range of eye therapy from primary to tertiary levels for the full spectrum of eye problems since its inauguration in 1990, ten subspecialties have been developed.
Few centres in the world have the range of 10 key subspecialties as SNEC does. More than 50% of patients in the public sector receive specialised eye treatment from it, and it is recognised as one of the best in its field for clinical quality thanks to the founding Medical Director, the late Professor Arthur Lim.
One of the few organisations in the world, SNEC records each and every significant procedure for the purpose of monitoring and teaching surgery to assure high standards and successful outcomes. There has been a significant influence. The success rate for cataract operations at SNEC is approximately 99% (visual outcome of 6/12 or better).
