BIOGRAPHY

Professor EK Tan is Senior Consultant Neurologist at the National Neuroscience Institute, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Academic Affairs), and Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (a joint initiative with Imperial College London). Prof. Tan has worked on numerous committees for the International Movement Disorders Society (MDS) and is a founding member of the MDS Asian Oceanic Section. He is an editor of the European Journal of Neurology, Parkinsonism Related Disorders, and Parkinson's disease Journal. Care of patients with neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, and other related disorders, is Prof. Tan's area of clinical interest. Additionally, he manages patients with various neurological disorders such as migraines, dystonias, spasticity, facial spasms, etc. at a botulinum toxin clinic. Clinical and neuroimaging studies, functional genomics, and experimental therapeutics for movement disorders are some of Prof. Tan's areas of interest.
