BIOGRAPHY

With 26 years of experience in brain and spine surgery, Professor Dr. Dolati is a board-certified neurosurgeon. During that time, he has operated on 200–300 major brain and spine cases annually and managed more than 30,000 outpatient cases at academic institutions as well as private clinics and hospitals. After serving the university for many years as an assistant professor, Prof. Dr. Dolati completed numerous clinical fellowships in various fields of neurosurgery, including neurotrauma and intensive care unit, complex spine surgery, interventional neuroradiology/endovascular neurosurgery, cerebral vascular microsurgery, image-guided neurosurgery/neuronavigation in brain tumour surgery, and combined endovascular neurosurgery/cerebrovascular microsurgery. After completing his fellowship, he worked as an attending neurosurgeon at Boston University's VA West Roxbury hospital. Earlier this year, he joined American Hospital Dubai after joining Zulekha and Emirates Specialty Hospitals the year before. Prof. Dr. Dolati is particularly interested in the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases like aneurysms, arterio-venous malformations (AVM), stroke, and carotid artery diseases using surgical (open) and endovascular methods. Prof. Dr. Dolati enjoys teaching and conducting clinical research in addition to his clinical practise. He has more than 20 papers published in prestigious journals for neurosurgery.
