BIOGRAPHY

At The Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Stephen C. Yang teaches medical oncology and surgery. He was selected as the inaugural Arthur B. and Patricia B. Modell Professor of Thoracic Surgery in October 2008. Dr. Yang is a staunch advocate for medical students. He was one of 20 doctors selected from the School of Medicine, and he is the faculty sponsor for both the Surgery Interest Group and the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association. Dr. Yang earned a B.A. in Chemistry from Duke University and an M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia. He finished his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia after completing his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Additionally, he finished a three-year research fellowship in thoracic surgical oncology at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
