A multidisciplinary surgical team led by Dr. Robert James Cusimano, a cardiac surgeon, performs double bypass surgery with the assistance of anesthesiologists, radiologists, and a cardiac surgery fellow from Japan.

His research focuses on ways to improve collateral blood vessel creation in ischemic myocardium as well as heart failure.
