Dr Kaushik Mukherjee

Dr. Kaushik Mukherjee is a well-known Cardiac Surgeon in Kolkata, India. He is currently the head of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department and a mechanical circulatory support specialist at AMRI HOSPITALS, DHAKURIA in Kolkata. Dr. Mukherjee has a stellar academic record. He graduated with honours from NRS Medical College in Kolkata, where he earned prizes for academic success in medicine. He received his postgraduate M.S. in general surgery from the reputed PGIMER Chandigarh. Dr. Mukherjee received his Mch in CTVS from the G.B. Pant Hospital, University of Delhi (2006-09). After finishing his Mch, he worked as an attending consultant in the congenital and paediatric heart surgery department at Max Hospital Saket in New Delhi. He previously worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of CTVS at Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, where he trained aspiring cardiac surgeons. Throughout his distinguished career, he has pioneered and led cardiac surgery departments at numerous hospitals in Kolkata, including Ruby General Hospital, B P poddar Hospital, Sanjiban Hospital, and Charnock Hospital. Dr. Mukherjee has successfully done multiple open heart procedures over the previous 15 years. Dr. Mukherjee and his team address acute heart failure or cardiogenic shock patients who require sophisticated mechanical circulatory support such as VA ECMO and LVAD. He is particularly interested in adult critical heart disease, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and congenital heart surgery. He is one of the few cardiac surgeons in Kolkata who perform MICS paediatric and adult cardiac surgery with comparable success and quality. He has a long list of international and national publications to his name.
