Dr. A. Venkatalakshmi

At Rainbow Children's Hospital, Dr. Venkatalakshmi is a consultant neonatologist who works full-time. She attended Vellore's Christian Medical College for her undergraduate studies and DCH. She received several merit certificates and was named the finest sportswoman in the college as well as the Sommerville Prize in Surgery and Captain Jai Singh Jadhav Prize winner for best postgraduate student. She completed her paediatrics residency at Madras' Egmore Children's Hospital. Dr. Lakshmi completed her two-year neonatology residency at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia, and her fellowship in the field at St. Louis Children's Hospital, part of Washington University in St. Louis. She joined Rainbow Children's Hospital when she eventually made it back to India. She has successfully cared for numerous preterm infants and dealt with a variety of challenging neonatal issues. Extreme prematurity is one of her interests.
